Wuling Eksion Completes the 627-Kilometer Jakarta–Yogyakarta Route Together with Media
A demonstration of the comfort and practicality of the Wuling Eksion on a long-distance mountainous route
Yogyakarta, June 5, 2026 – Wuling Motors (Wuling) officially concluded the first batch of the Wuling Eksion ‘Exploring Family Journeys’ Media Drive with national media, which had been taking place since June 3, 2026. During this activity, 32 national media journalists, using 8 units of the Wuling Eksion Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) EX variant, successfully completed the journey from Jakarta to Yogyakarta via Purwokerto and Wonosobo, covering a total distance of 627 kilometers.
“Through the Wuling Eksion ‘Exploring Family Journeys’ Media Drive, we aimed to deliver a long-distance family travel exploration experience. By combining toll roads, urban areas, and mountainous routes, media were not only able to experience the comfort of traveling with the Wuling Eksion, but also explore its spacious cabin and luggage capacity that support various travel needs, making family exploration trips both comfortable and enjoyable,” explained Brian Gomgom, Brand Communication Senior Manager Wuling Motors.

Throughout the 627-kilometer journey, participants encountered various road characteristics, ranging from toll roads and urban areas to mountainous routes with diverse elevations and turns. These varying road conditions provided media participants with the opportunity to experience the comfort of the Wuling Eksion cabin, which is designed to support long-duration family journeys. In addition, the flexible storage space offered greater convenience for carrying various belongings throughout the trip.
During the stage that passed through the mountainous route beyond the Dipayana area in Wonosobo, spanning approximately 18 kilometers, participants were also able to enjoy panoramic views of Mount Sindoro and Mount Sumbing, iconic landmarks of Central Java’s highland region, through the panoramic sunroof available in the Eksion. This feature provides wider visibility for all passengers, adding to the enjoyment of exploring various destinations throughout the journey.
In addition to the panoramic sunroof, the Eksion EX variant used during this media drive was equipped with various premium features, including a power tailgate, ventilated first-row seats, electric front passenger seat adjustment, a 50W wireless phone charger, Adaptive Cruise Control, and the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). These features further enhanced comfort and delivered a more enjoyable driving experience throughout the journey from Jakarta to Yogyakarta.

“Throughout this journey, the media were able to experience how Ling Power technology intelligently manages the use of electric power and the gasoline engine according to driving needs. In addition, the various settings available provide flexibility for drivers to adjust the vehicle’s characteristics to suit different road conditions, ensuring that the driving experience remains comfortable and optimal,” said Danang Wiratmoko, Product Communication Manager Wuling Motors.
The media drive was also enlivened by the Ultimate Packing Challenge and Journey Content Challenge, both designed to provide a more interactive experience for media participants. Through the Ultimate Packing Challenge, participants were invited to test the luggage capacity and flexibility of the Wuling Eksion, which reaches up to 1,788 liters when the second- and third-row seats are folded flat. Meanwhile, through the Journey Content Challenge, participants captured various travel moments and experiences with the Wuling Eksion through creative content during the media drive.
Through this 627-kilometer Jakarta–Yogyakarta journey, media not only gained firsthand experience with the Wuling Eksion but also explored various aspects that support family travel, ranging from cabin comfort and flexible storage space to a variety of features designed to enhance the enjoyment of the journey. This experience aligns with the ‘Exploring Family Journeys’ spirit embodied by the Wuling Eksion.
