Wuling Eksion Completes the Southern Coast of Java Journey Together with 36 Automotive Journalists
Wuling’s latest 7-seater SUV with Plug-in Hybrid technology is put to the test by media over a distance of 601 kilometers
Jakarta, June 10, 2026 – Wuling Motors (Wuling) officially concluded the second batch of the Wuling Eksion ‘Exploring Family Journeys’ Media Drive, which had been taking place since June 8, 2026. During this activity, 36 automotive journalists, using 9 units of the Wuling Eksion Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) EX variant, successfully completed the journey from Yogyakarta to Jakarta via Pangandaran and Bandung, covering a total distance of 601 kilometers. Through this journey, participants had the opportunity to directly explore the Plug-in Hybrid technology featured in Wuling’s latest 7-seater SUV across various road conditions encountered along the route.

The second batch of the Media Drive was divided into three main stages, starting from Yogyakarta to Pangandaran with a total distance of approximately 211 kilometers, followed by a journey to Bandung covering around 233 kilometers, and concluding with the final stage from Bandung to Jakarta spanning approximately 157 kilometers. Each stage featured diverse road characteristics and traffic conditions.
Throughout the journey, participants were able to experience how Ling Power technology intelligently manages the use of electric power and the gasoline engine according to driving needs. This Plug-in Hybrid system combines a 1.5L dedicated hybrid engine, a 145 kW electric motor, a 20.5 kWh battery, and a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) to deliver responsive yet efficient performance across various driving conditions.
In addition, media participants had the opportunity to explore various Driving Mode configurations consisting of Eco, Normal, and Sport, as well as Energy Modes including EV Max, EV First, Hybrid, and Fuel Priority. These settings allow drivers to adjust the vehicle’s characteristics according to road conditions and travel requirements, ranging from urban roads and the southern Java corridor to intercity toll roads. Supported by Ling Power technology, transitions between electric power and the gasoline engine occur adaptively, providing a more optimal driving experience.

The Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), which is part of the Ling Power system, also plays a role in maintaining smooth and responsive power delivery throughout the journey. This technology enables the vehicle to automatically adjust the power source being used, thereby providing a balance between performance and efficiency under various driving conditions.
Through this long-distance journey, participants not only explored the performance and efficiency of the Wuling Eksion but also directly experienced the Plug-in Hybrid technology that serves as one of the key advantages of Wuling’s latest SUV. The Wuling Eksion PHEV is powered by Ling Power technology, which combines a 1.5L dedicated hybrid engine, a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), and a 20.5 kWh battery. This system enables the vehicle to travel up to 125 kilometers in pure electric mode and offers a total driving range of more than 1,000 kilometers (CLTC) through the combination of gasoline and electric power, delivering a balance of performance and efficiency for a wide range of travel needs.
