Coordinating Minister for Marves, Minister of Transportation, and Minister of Health Visit Wuling Factory
Supporting to build the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia together.
Cikarang, September 30th 2021 – The Government of Indonesia, represented by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves), Jenderal TNI (Purn) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, M.P.A; Minister of Transportation (Menhub), Ir. Budi Karya Sumadi; and Minister of Health (Menkes), Budi Gunadi Sadikin today visited the Wuling Motors (Wuling) factory located in Cikarang, West Java. The presence of the Ministers to the Wuling manufacturing facility was held in order to support Wuling together to enter the era of electrification of electric vehicles in the country.
The presence of the Coordinating Minister for Marves, Minister of Transportation, Minister of Health, and staffs was welcomed by Mr. Shi Guoyong as President Director of Wuling Motors and Arif Pramadana, Vice President Wuling Motors. The ministers and staffs were guided by Mr. Shi Guoyong and Arif Pramadana to see the vehicle production process at the Wuling factory which implements the Global Manufacturing System (GMS). Mr. Shi Guoyong explained, "The realization of Wuling's investment in Indonesia starts with the construction of production facilities and supplier park with global quality standards. Then, until now, Wuling has presented high quality product lines in the Indonesian automotive market, even becoming export commodities. In addition, during the pandemic, Wuling also applies strict health protocols in the manufacturing process so that the health of employees is always maintained."

The main agenda of the visit of the Coordinating Minister for Marves, Minister of Transportation, and staffs is to monitor Wuling's readiness in the field of electric vehicles and infrastructure. On this occasion, Mr. Shi Guoyong explained the future plans for Wuling electric vehicle development, which is currently being marketed in China along with various technologies owned by each line, starting from the E100, E200, E300, to the Mini EV which has been marketed in China and recorded the number 1 achievement of electric vehicle sales in 2021 with sales of 200,000 units (January-July 2021). The technology on the GSEV platform consists of passenger vehicles and driverless logistics, 5G connectivity, and cloud computing. Thus, Wuling already has a series of EV products and innovations that are tailored to the needs of the Indonesian market.
After the presentation session by Mr. Shi Guoyong, Coordinating Minister for Marves and Minister of Health had the opportunity to have driving experience with Wuling electric cars in a limited area of Wuling's head office in Cikarang, West Java. Guided by Arif Pramadana, the Ministers were able to experience the Wuling electric vehicle directly and try the innovations in two Wuling electric vehicles which are E100 and Mini EV.

"We are serious in bringing the technology and also investing to enter the era of vehicle electrification. Definitely, Wuling also needs support from the government to develop the EV ecosystem in Indonesia together," added Mr. Shi Guoyong.
